Here’s my latest piece of 3d artwork. Latest isn’t an understatement, I started it more than 2 years ago…

He was originally intended for one of the many challenges at the cgsociety forums for which the theme was ‘Master & Slave’. The original concept was to have a robot being remotely controlled to perform ballet by his stereotypical mad scientist creator. In fact you should be able to see the ‘master’ elsewhere on this site.

I wanted to render the image large enough to be printed, so the final size for this one is 3500 pixels high. So here’s some crops of the full version’s details…

As you can see, the design of the robot has changed slightly, but not too much from the original.
